About CircBoost
CircBoost is a four-year project coordinated by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and funded by Horizon Europe. The project runs from 2023 - 2027 and has a consortium of 28 project partners.
The overall objective of CircBoost is to enable and demonstrate an increase in the large-scale uptake of Integrated Circular Solutions (ICS) in European construction value chains.
Paving the way towards a circular Europe together
Like Drastic, CircBoost focuses on testing and upscaling circular solutions in buildings and the construction sector, via five pilot projects deployed in eight European regions.
The project will be further advanced by a digital building platform – forming a robust data chain across the pilots and aiding in their development of urban material databanks (a digital repository of information about the types, quantities, and locations of materials present within a city's built environment) and digital twins (live digital models of a building used to optimise performance and sustainability).
Through the combined use of digital tools and real-world testing and application, CircBoost’s five pilots aim to demonstrate large-scale, novel and integrated solutions for demolition, construction waste processing, and increasing the value and reusability of new construction products.
CircHub Cluster
Via its exciting new connection with CircBoost, Drastic will also join CircHub—a collaborative cluster bringing together EU-funded projects focused on advancing circularity in the built environment.
Circ-Boost is a founding member of CircHub, which offers:
- Joint dissemination and communication activities.
- Exchange of knowledge between pilots, living labs, and regions.
- Shared training materials and educational resources.
- Policy recommendations and advocacy at EU and national levels.
By uniting efforts across multiple Horizon Europe projects, CircHub aims to amplify collective impact and accelerate the transition towards circular, climate-neutral, and resilient cities.
Furthering synergetic and sustainable progress
By establishing a relationship between CircBoost and Drastic and joining the CircHub Cluster, Drastic hopes that the opportunities for collaboration, synergy and exchange of ideas will help to further both Drastic and CircHub’s progress towards creating a more sustainable, circular and affordable European built environment.
Stay tuned for further updates from this new dynamic collaboration!
