French Demonstrator gives office partitions a new lease of life
The Drastic project is excited to announce the latest phase of activity from its French Demonstrator: a circular office partition installation at project partner Clipper Coramine’s headquarters in Senlis, France.
Extending the life of office interiors
Circular office partition installation at Clipper Coramine's headquarters in Senlis, France.
While office partitions and interior space plan products are often designed to be adaptable and reusable, they are frequently discarded during refurbishment projects, resulting in unnecessary waste and avoidable carbon emissions.
Drastic’s French Demonstrator aims to prove the potential for the reusability of interior space plan products, such as ceiling tiles and partition walls, in office retrofits.
Circular business models
To achieve this, the Demonstrator is focused on identifying a circular business model that enables the fast market uptake of circular, reusable office space plan interiors.
Dismantling and refurbishment
Prior to installation, glass partitions, glass wool, and plasterboards were dismantled, conditioned, and transported to Clipper Coramine’s storage facility.
The materials were then carefully inspected, refurbished, and qualified to ensure performance levels equivalent to new products when reused across a range of configurations and office designs.

A new circular lease of life
Following this process, the separate elements were installed into several areas of Clipper Coramine’s headquarters in Senlis, France, giving an existing office space a new circular lease of life.
Additionally, some harvested glass partitions were repurposed into doors and installed at a Clipper Coramine customer site in Gennevilliers, France.
Demonstrating circular feasibility
The installations complied with strict technical specifications to guarantee environmental and performance standards, while ensuring occupant comfort and well-being.
This work aims to demonstrate the feasibility and sustainability of a circular reuse-based business model for office partitions, helping to advance circularity within the built environment and support the European Union’s (EU’s) goal of a carbon-neutral Europe by 2050.

Major Demonstrator milestone
This latest phase marks another major milestone for Drastic’s French Demonstrator, showcasing how the reuse of office partitions and interior products can reduce waste, extend material lifecycles, and contribute to a more sustainable and circular built environment.
The installation has been delivered by Drastic’s French partners Clipper Coramine (Saint-Gobain), Saint-Gobain Solution France and Saint-Gobain Research Paris
Stay tuned for the next French Demonstrator update!
